Dry humour, a low tolerance for hypocrisy, and a day job in PR that gave him plenty of material.

Kailash Koppikar — Dr. KK to his audiences — has performed at The Habitat, J-Spot, Backspace, and other rooms across Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Bengaluru. He has opened for Atul Khatri, Amit Tandon, Aakash Mehta, Punit Pania, Jeeveshu, Aditya Gundeti and Nathan Gomes, appeared on Madhur Virli's YouTube show Madhur Model, and was part of Stok India's Laughter Brewery, Season 2.

His online audience found him roughly the way most of Mumbai found out its bridges don't always line up: through a reel. @midlife_samosa has built a fast-growing following on the strength of short, deadpan takes on the news, the rupee, cricket, and civic engineering — the kind of everyday absurdity that's easy to scroll past and hard to unsee once he's pointed it out.

Before any of that, he spent three decades in film production and reputation management — training that turned out to be excellent preparation for reading a room, and even better material for one.

IN CLOWN

Falling down, on purpose.

Clown training treats failing in front of a room as raw material rather than something to hide from. Dr. KK takes it seriously — masks, a red nose, and occasionally a stuffed animal hat — through workshops with four teachers, each with a very different style.

He's attended workshops with four teachers, each from a different tradition. Manish Ruparel leads mask, movement and clown workshops out of Mumbai. Piotr Sikora, the Polish clown behind the Edinburgh Fringe hit Furiozo, builds his workshops around turning stage failure into material. David Hoskin, a London-based mime trained at École Philippe Gaulier, teaches clown as a physical state performers drop into. Neeltarni Pratap has run workshops in improv and clowning technique.
